That... makes far too much sense. As though it were planned. Perhaps it was. Perhaps this Kronid fellow simply put a few steps of logic together to find an easy and stable food source.
Can he blame him? People migrate to advantageous locations for resources all the time.
"If anyone finds out..." He trails off, not wanting to tip his hand. He's sure that the whole family together could likely take down a vampire, no matter how ancient. Between them they had instant access to every vampire-hunting method, in one way or another.
And then what? What would become of him? He let this man in, after all. They wouldn't have to fight in the first place if it weren't for him.
"It'll have to be secret. But that'll be easy. You don't spend ten years scavenging food without learning a few ways to not be noticed." He reaches into a pocket under his ruana and produces a paper-wrapped bundle. Magic wafts from it, almost like a scent. "It only lasts a day but I can collect some every morning." He's not going to mention that he's been doing that every day even after he'd rejoined the family, out of nothing more than paranoid habit. "Juli's arepas can cure it, I'm sure."
